Convention Sales and Service
Bureau staff actively promotes the area with the goal of bringing meetings and conventions to the Fox
Cities. Our staff works closely with meeting and convention planners to ensure they understand the value
of hosting their event in the Fox Cities.
The Bureau also provides many free services to convention groups, including: securing site tours, site
selection, coordination of room blocks, delegate folders, name badges and volunteers to help with on-site
registration.
Sports Sales
The Fox Cities offer many excellent sports facilities. Bureau staff are active in identifying potential
sporting events that would be a good fit for the Fox Cities, as well as working with local host groups to
provide them support and guidance in the event bidding and planning process. Sports events planners are
encouraged to contact the Bureau for assistance.
Capital Development Fund
Each year the Fox Cities Convention & Visitors Bureau puts one-third of its room tax revenue into the
Capital Development Fund, using the money to grow and develop visitor attractions and amenities located
in the Fox Cities. Since making its first grant in 1987, the Bureau has contributed nearly $6 million to
Fox Cities museums, sports facilities, and other visitor attractions. Each grant is aimed at making the
community more attractive place for convention, sports and leisure visitors, thereby strengthening the
local economy.
Fox Cities Sports & Events Commission
The Bureau works to promote the Fox Cities as a sports destination. In support of this effort, the Fox
Cities Sports & Events Commission was formed to enhance the quality of life in the Fox Cities through the
development of sports and special events. Money from Fox Cities Sports & Events Commission is used to
offset the costs of bidding for sporting events. For more information on, or to contribute to, the Fox
Cities Sports & Events Commission, contact the Bureau’s Sports Sales Department at (920) 734-3358.
