Your Friends in the Fox Cities

Learn a little more about who will be on the other end of the phone when you're planning a meeting, convention, sports tournament or vacation in the Fox Cities!

Lynn Peters, Executive Director
I'm in charge of the big picture. I help our board of directors make good decisions about our organization and then try to make sure we use our finances and staff time to accomplish what the board envisions for us. I'm responsible to make sure we have strong working relationships with Fox Cities municipalities and community leaders.

Favorite thing to do in the Fox Cities: I love to meet a friend for a leisurely lunch and chat at an outdoor restaurant in downtown Appleton. I also think the Bergstrom-Mahler Museum has great art exhibits, and I really try to make the time to see them.

Best-kept restaurant secret: Apollon has a wonderful atmosphere and always great food.

Life is good in the Fox Cities because: When I moved to the Fox Cities I intended to stay just a couple of years. My plan failed because I soon realized how great it is to be in a community small enough that the bank tellers recognize you, but big enough to have city amenities.

Mae Ibe, Director of Convention Sales
My job is to attract convention groups to the Fox Cities. I do this by promoting the area to clubs, organizations and associations as a convention destination. I’m the one to call if you're planning a meeting or convention.

The best part of my job is the many different groups of people I meet. There is an association or club for everything - and each group is so fascinating.

Favorite thing to do in the Fox Cities: There are so many great things to do in the Fox Cities! One of my favorite things to do in the Fox Cities is to utilize the tremendous biking trail system found in the area.

Best-kept restaurant secret: Confucius for Chinese and Mark's Eastside for a Wisconsin fish fry!

Life is good in the Fox Cities because: with the crime rate substantially below the nation's average, the Fox Cities is a very safe place to live. The communities are all so welcoming, and the school districts are top-notch! Combine that with all the big city amenities and great things to do in the area, and you have a GREAT life in the Fox Cities!

Pete Schueppert, Sports Sales Manager
I work with various Fox Cities sports organizations to attract sporting events to the area and to partner with existing events to help grow and attract new participants and spectators.

Favorite thing to do in the Fox Cities: Taking in a Timber Rattler game at Fox Cities Stadium. The prices are right, there isn't a bad seat in the house, and you might see the next Alex Rodriguez.

Best-kept restaurant secret: George's. You'll feel right at home and the steaks are great!

Life is good in the Fox Cities because: There are activities to satisfy a variety of interests: from ball games to Broadway shows you can always find something to do - and everything is within 15 minutes!

Tami Hoff, Group Sales Coordinator
Here at the Fox Cities Convention & Visitors Bureau we value meetings and conferences of all sizes. My focus is on military and religious groups, and small to medium conference groups. If you are considering bringing a meeting to the Fox Cities, I can make your job much easier.

Favorite things to do in the Fox Cities: Eat and shop!

Best-kept restaurant secret: Apollon.

Life is good in the Fox Cities because: We have the amenities of a large city (museums, entertainments, shopping, restaurants) without the large city problems (crowds, parking problems, traffic etc.).

Pam Seidl, Director of Marketing Communications
My main focus is developing and maintaining the brand image of the Fox Cities as Wisconsin’s Shopping Place. The website, printed publications, advertisements, public and community relations are all my babies, but the best part of my job is getting to work with the many local organizations and attractions that make the Fox Cities such a great place.

Favorite thing to do in the Fox Cities: Shop… whether it’s the Fox River Mall or the really neat specialty shops in Downtown Appleton or Neenah, the sheer volume of places to shop in this area amazes me.

Best-kept restaurant secret: I can’t pick just one, so: Zuppa’s in Neenah – part deli, part bistro you always get great food and they will even pack you a picnic lunch! Naut’s Landing in Menasha for great pizza, incredibly consistent quality and friendly service. El Azteca for cheese dip (just trust me).

Life is good in the Fox Cities because: It has an urban flare without all the traffic jams and parking hassles, plus you can get out and enjoy nature without having to leave town.

Kim Kozak, Director of Operations
I oversee the daily operations of the Bureau, which includes financial management, human resource, information technology, purchasing and overall office functions.

Favorite thing to do in the Fox Cities: Attend art-related events, concerts and summer/fall farmers markets.

Best-kept restaurant secret: Brewed Awakenings for breakfast.

Life is good in the Fox Cities because: There is such a great sense of community among area residents.

Ginny Rochon, Visitor Services Coordinator
I welcome people! You might be visiting from near or far or be a local resident. You may phone our office, stop into our visitor center, write us or email – I will usually be the one to respond. Every day is exciting and no two days are alike. I have the privilege of meeting wonderful people and sharing some of the things that I’ve learned through the years.

Favorite thing to do in the Fox Cities: Visit the individual Fox Cities. Each city, town or village is unique. It is no coincidence that visitors comment on the beauty, cleanliness and safety of the area.

Best kept restaurant secret: Upfront, I will have to admit my bias. One of my favorites is Novak’s Tuckers Restaurant in Little Chute. Some of my favorite times have been enjoying a meal with my brother and sister in law, Tom and Mary Novak and I can still do that by eating at Tuckers. Tuckers is their restaurant.

Karen Treml, Office Assistant
The variety of work makes my job so fun…greeting visitors, answering phones, updating data base and providing support where needed. I am fortunate to live in such a great community and able to share the advantages that are available in the Fox Cities.

Favorite thing to do in the Fox Cities: Shop!!

Best-kept restaurant secret: Cheyenne's Sports Bar & Grill

Life is good in the Fox Cities because: Hometown, family and friends are here. Great schools and safe environment make the Fox Cities a great place to raise a family.

Chris Church, Bureau Services Manager
My job is to find out what groups need and when they want it. Looking for fun off-site venues? Just ask me--we've got something for everyone! Need entertainment ideas for your banquet? I've got a 32-page list! Trying to figure out how to have 1,000 folders collated with 20 different items? One call to our volunteers, and it's taken care of. Whatever you need for your convention, conference, reunion or sports event, I'm your resource at the Bureau.

Favorite thing to do in the Fox Cities: Kayak on the Fox River and Lake Winnebago and strolling through our downtowns.

Best kept restaurant secret: The Queen Bee. Their hash browns are awesome!

Life is good in the Fox Cities because: Everything's right here, from great shopping and art galleries to quiet trails, beautiful waterways and great neighborhoods. If you like feeling welcome in a community, you'll love the Fox Cities!
