Weekend plans? From catching a movie at the ballpark to strolling local markets, here are a few fun ways to enjoy the last weekend of June in the Fox Cities.
Take a walk through history on an island.
On the self-guided walking Sidewalk Tour of Doty Island, you'll learn about the rich history and stunning architecture of Doty Island homes, businesses, and other buildings. Yellow signs with descriptions and facts of the featured properties are erected on tour properties from June 22-June 28 to read and view from the sidewalk.
Catch a movie and fireworks at the ballpark.
Missing the ballpark? Us too. While baseball has been put on hold due to the COVID19 situation, enjoy a movie and fireworks at Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium this Friday and Saturday. Just $15/carload (must be purchased in advance online or phone) gets you admission for all of the night's festivities and treats.
Celebrate National Dairy Month with an ice cream treat.
Whether in a cone or dish, you can't go wrong with ice cream on a warm summer day. From Frogg's Ice Cream in Sherwood to Lemon Loves Lime/The Chocolate Shoppe in Menasha to Dick's Drive-In in Kaukauna to Lamers Dairy in Appleton (and many others in between,) get some lickin' good ice cream in the Fox Cities
Head out to the field and pick berries.
Strawberry season is here, and local farms are offering both pick-your-own and pre-picked strawberries. Cuff Farms in Hortonville has acres of fields to pick this delicious and healthy fruit from this weekend. Additional health precautions have been implemented to promote a healthy trip to the farm.
Make fresh finds at the farm market.
Local producers and vendors are selling an array of fresh produce, baked goods, meats and cheeses, and more every Saturday at the Future Neenah Farmers Market. Special health precautions have been put in place to promote health and wellbeing of shoppers and vendors. Enjoy a morning strolling and shopping around the market along the water in downtown Neenah.
Stroll and shop on the Ave.
From clothing to gifts to sport memorabilia, College Avenue and downtown Appleton are home to expansive shopping opportunities. Take advantage of good deals and good weather as you shop and stroll the Summer Sidewalk Sale this Saturday.
