Our tourism region is fortunate to be surrounded by over 100 miles of trails for you to walk, hike, bike and even horseback ride on. From our nature centers to scenic converted railroad trestles, you'll find a wide variety for all interests.
Nature Centers:
1000 Islands Environmental Center, Kaukauna - 7.2 miles with 2,000 feet of barrier free boardwalk
Gordon Bubolz Nature Preserve, Appleton - 8.5 miles, unpaved. No bikes allowed.
Heckrodt Wetland Resesrve, Menasha - 3+miles including 2 miles of elevated, wheelchair accessible boardwalks. no bikes allowed
State Park:
High Cliff State Park, Sherwood - 16 miles, paved and unpaved as well as horseback riding trails
Self-guided historical tours:
Fox Trot Trail, Appleton - 2-mile loop of the downtown and riverfront
Historial Tour, Neenah - Step back in time as you stroll throughout downtown Neenah and around the Neenah channel taking in the sights of paper history in the area. There are 24 stops total, including homes and other structures.
Other popular trails:
CB Trail - 7.3 miles from Winneconne Ave in the Town of Neenah to College Ave in the Town of Grand Chute
CE/Newberry Trail - 9 miles from Appleton to Kaukauna
Paper Trail - 42 mile loop around the Fox Cities
Trestle Trail/Friendship Trail - 10 miles including the 1,600ft long lighted bridge over Little Lake Butte des Morts
Wiouwash Trail - 21.8 miles, paved and unpaved from Hortonville to Oshkosh
Opening June 23rd:
Loop the Lake trail - 3.2 miles that will encompass the lower portion of Little Lake Butte des Morts. Includes the already existing Trestle Trail and paved paths through Herb & Dolly Smith and Arrowhead parks.
