CVB Donates $100,000 for upcoming Museum exhibit
- Today, March 14th, the Convention & Visitors Bureau was proud to award a $100,000 grant to The History Museum at the Castle for their newest exhibit, Gridiron Glory: The Best of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, that will open June 30, 2018 and run through January 6, 2019.
- The grant is part of the Bureau's Tourism Development Grant Fund, which is responsible for giving grants to area tourism businesses and events. Since its inception in 1986, the Bureau has given more than $8 million in grants through the program. Grants have ranged between $1,200 and $1,000,000.
- Gridiron Glory presents a once-in-a-lifetime chance for the Fox Cities to host this 5,000-square foot exhibition featuring the best of the Pro Football Hall of Fame's vast collection and is the only time the exhibit can be seen in the state of Wisconsin. It includes more than 200 precious football mementos, award winning photography, one-of-a-kind documents, interactive experiences that challenge the mind and body, spectacular footage from NFL Films, and a special customized 500 square foot "Hometown Tribute" to the Green Bay Packers.
- The Fox Cities will likely be the smallest host community in the entire run of this travelling exhibition. Conservative estimates for attendance are 22,000 visitors from outside of the area with an economic impact of nearly $2 million.
