There are many exciting events coming to the downtown Appleton this year such as Mile of Music, Octoberfest and the Farmer’s Market on College Ave!
With the City planning some downtown construction projects, getting to and attending these and other downtown events may result in some frustration when it comes to parking. Let us help by providing several parking recommendations from ramps to metered parking. All that's left to do once you park, is have fun and enjoy all that downtown has to offer!
Downtown Appleton has 4 ramps open to the public. There’s the Red Ramp and the YMCA ramp, which are located on the western and eastern sides of Houdini Plaza. The Green Ramp is a great option for those looking to park near the Performing Arts Center or the 600 block of College Avenue. The Yellow Ramp is another option for parking, which is located on the corner of W Washington and N Morrison. All ramps charge by the hour Monday through Saturday, with Sunday being free. The hourly rates for every ramp are as following:
*The ramps require permits when parking from 2:00 am - 5:00 am. Permits are available for $30/month and allow unlimited access to the Green, Yellow and Red ramps.
Parking in Downtown Appleton is metered from 9:00 am - 6:00 pm, Monday through Saturday, with Sunday free. There are certain meters that open at 3:00 pm, so make sure to check the meter description before parking. There are 30-minute and hour meters with the following rates:
We recommend parking in the ramps or on the street when looking to access local businesses. Please note this year there will be no parking on Appleton Street, as construction is taking place until mid-October to make the street into a two-way road. A nice resource to take advantage of is the mobile application offered by the City of Appleton to pay for metered parking. The app is called PassportParking, or go to ppprk.com. Users are able to pay with a debit/credit card, and can monitor their parking session. They will get a notification when their time is expiring and are able to add funds through the app for more time.
We hope this guide will help ease the process of parking in Downtown Appleton during event season! Any questions or concerns can be addressed with the City of Appleton at (920) 832-6173 or @CityofAppleton on social media.
