The Fox Cities will soon be filled with the sights and sounds of the holidays.
From community events to the largest nighttime parade in the Midwest, we’ve got plenty of ways to help you celebrate the season, and with all that great holiday fun going on, you just may need to stay a while…check out our Holiday Deals page for area lodging packages and specials!
Kick off the holiday season in downtown Appleton at Light-Up Night on Friday, November 10 from 4-7pm. Family activities, carriage rides, live music from Kyle Megna & the Monsoons, food & beverages from local vendors, lighting ceremony at 6pm and an appearance from Mrs. Claus. Stop in the Trout Museum of Art for Kids Frosty Forest Scavenger Hunt and Festival of Wreaths.
In conjunction with downtown Appleton’s Light-Up Night, stroll the avenue and enjoy Holiday window displays at downtown businesses. Stores will be open late, offering special discounts and holiday refreshments!
Join Mrs. Claus at the Paper Discovery Center on Friday, November 17 from 5-7:30pm for an evening of Holiday fun. Write a letter to Santa, enjoy music, crafts, activities and experiments from our 'Frozen: Science and Art' exhibit.
Stop at Fox Valley Technical College for their Annual Holiday Arts & Craft Fair on Saturday, November 18, 9am-3pm. It will feature local arts & crafts vendors, raffle prizes and food available for purchase. The FVTC Culinary Arts Club will also have pies for sale with proceeds benefiting the Seeds of Hope Scholarship fund. **Admission $3/person
Don’t miss the largest Holiday nighttime parade in the Midwest! Head downtown Appleton on Tuesday, November 21st, parade start time is about 7pm but get there early if you want a good spot. The theme for the parade this year is “Our Wish for the Season: Peace, Joy & Harmony”. The Santa Scamper 1-mile fun run will kick-off the event at 6:40pm with parade to follow.
Start off your Thanksgiving Day in downtown Appleton at the Turkey Trot! This annual run features a 5-mile, 2 mile or Dog Jog fun run. Thursday November 23rd, registration begins at 6:30am, race start time is 8am.
Fox Cities Performing Arts Center on Sunday, November 26 at 7:30pmFeel the spirit of the season come alive with dazzling multimedia effects as Mannheim Steamroller presents an evening of Christmas Classics.
Celebrate the season with Downtown Neenah on Friday, December 1st. Storefronts transform into live mannequin displays featuring holiday and winter scenes. Enjoy family activities, horse drawn carriage rides, caroling, a visit from Santa and more!
December 2 & 3. Have us do your Christmas baking for you! Join us for the Sacred Heart Parish Sweet Stroll, Cookie and Candy Sale. Do some Christmas shopping in our craft area and enjoy hot soup and sandwiches. Saturday 9am-6pm and Sunday 9am-Noon.
Tour the historic Grignon Mansion in Kaukauna December 1-3 and December 8-10. Visit the mansion for a traditional Christmas celebration, tour the mansion by candlelight, enjoy live music, cookie decorating, carriage rides, wassail (hot cider) and milk punch (eggnog).
Enjoy tours of the mansion every Friday in December from 6-8pm. Different areas of the Victorian mansion are staged to depict how it might have been decorated for Christmas in different eras: 1880s, 1910s, 1930s, 1950s, 1970s. Friday evening tours in December feature live music, beautifully lit displays and costumed docents.
Bring your kids out to Heckrodt Wetland Reserve on Saturday, December 2 for their Children’s Gift Workshop. Kids can make up to 6 gifts, volunteers will wrap for them, enjoy cookies and hot cocoa will you create your gifts! Registration is required. $10/child.
Walk the illuminated Memorial Park Trail at Sunset park in Kimberly on Sunday, December 3rd for their Christmas at the Pond celebration. Purchase a Red Bag Luminary to add your holiday spirit to the trail. Enjoy activities, s’mores stations along the trail, holiday caroling, light displays and holiday treats. 6-9pm.
Join us on Saturday, December 9 in Downtown Menasha for the Second Annual Holiday event! Vote for your favorite shop window displays, visit with Santa, sip on hot cocoa while you see live reindeer, free horse drawn hayrides, caroling by local high school students, enjoy holiday treats and shop specials.
A spectacular Broadway-style holiday-themed extravaganza featuring singers, dancers & actors ages five through senior citizen. Over one thousand gorgeous costumes, beautiful sets, lighting & staging make Christmas Stars one of the Midwest’s premier holiday performances! Shows will be held at Xavier Fine Arts Theater December 7-10.
December 9th from 5-9pm. Enjoy a hayride through the beautifully decorated streets of the Menasha Island. Visit with Mr. and Mrs. Claus and the reindeer, and sample hot beverages and cookies! Tickets go on sale November 2-December 8. Cost is $2 per ticket. Ages two and under are free and no ticket is required. Hayrides will depart from the Memorial Building.
Friday, December 8. The band “Behind the Eyes” will perform a blend of contemporary and classic Christmas favorites with a Trans-Siberian Orchestra feel. Proceeds from this year's concert will be used by the YMCA of the Fox Cities to fund their programs supporting economically disadvantaged kids within our community. Tickets are $15, 12 and under FREE.
Saturday, December 16 at Lawrence Memorial Chapel. Listen to traditional holiday carols, hymns and songs performed by the newVoice’s Choir featuring Lawrence Academy of Music’s Young Men’s Choir. Show times at 2pm & 7:30pm.
