Winter Survival- Fire and Shelter Building

Overview
Join a naturalist for a brief lesson on the importance of shelters and fire building. Learn how to build a shelter and then join together as a group to gather shelter building materials and attempt to assemble a shelter. During this workshop we will also have a brief lesson on the history and uses of fire. Engage in a flammable resource gathering hike and practice your fire starting skills. Then, enjoy gathering around and cooking over the fire.
Please note that this is a basic survival workshop and is only meant to be informative and hands on. This program will be outdoors and hands on. Please dress to be outdoors for the entire program.
This program is designed for teens but preteens, families, and adults are welcome.
