Women Leaders Program for Girls
September 23, 2023 — 2:00 PM – 4:30 PM
Overview
Join us on September 23 for Women Leaders Program for Girls ages 10-16 from 2:00-4:30 PM. We will welcome mentors Michelle A. Whilm, DDS from Whilm Dental and Jillian Steffek, Director of Engineering at Oshkosh Corporation to gain some hands on experience with dental science and engineering. Girls will get to learn the science and technology behind dental fillings as they place fillings into models before learning how the engineering process is applied to 3D printing as they solder and assemble 3D printed flashlight keychains. Both dental filling models and keychains can be taken home! Each workshop features introductions by mentors, brain teaser warm-ups, hands-on activities, snacks, refreshments and lots of conversation between current women leaders and future women leaders.
The cost is $15 per participant, $10 for members and $5 for those with an EBT card (or any government assistance program) as we are a proud participant of Museums for All. This is a great way for girls to start envisioning themselves in STEM roles and learning more about the everyday lives of these leaders in our area!
