Barrel 41 Brewing Co. in Neenah Voted Top Brewery in Statewide Competition
Fox Cities-based Barrel 41 Brewing Co. was crowned "top in hops" in a statewide Travel Wisconsin competition.
Barrel 41 Brewing Co. in Neenah has been voted the top brewery in Wisconsin in the Travel Wisconsin Brewdown.
People nominated their top 20 breweries via Travel Wisconsin social media channels and, during July, could vote daily for their favorite brewery in each region of the state and overall.
Barrel 41 is named after Interstate 41, which runs through the Fox Cities, and the brewery has served Fox Cities residents and visitors since 2018. It was opened by a group of high school friends (from the Neenah area,) who returned to the Fox Cities to pursue this entrepreneurial dream. The taproom features more than a dozen refreshing beers, either brewed onsite or hand-selected by the brewmasters. Barrel 41's brews can be found in local restaurants and bars and at an increasing number of locations statewide.
“We’re incredibly thankful to our friends, family, and the Neenah community for their support in this contest over the past month. As a business of young owners working to make the best product possible, it is humbling to have so much support from our customers and to be crowned the Brewdown winner,” said Matt Stubing, co-owner of Barrel 41, said in a shared Travel Wisconsin press release. “We hope that winning the Brewdown will help us to serve our beer to an even greater number of craft beer lovers across the state in the coming months and years.”
Another Fox Cities brewery, Fox River Brewing Co., with locations in both Appleton and Oshkosh, was also named a top 20 finalist in the competition. See the full Brewdown results here.
