Take that Trip: Plan Your Fox Cities Getaway on National Plan for Vacation Day

As part of National Plan for Vacation Day celebrated on Jan. 28, the Fox Cities Convention & Visitors Bureau (FCCVB) is encouraging people to take time to utilize, schedule and plan their vacations for the upcoming year.

According to the U.S. Travel Association, more than half of American workers failed to use all their time off last year. A key to using and enjoying vacation time is planning.

“The beginning of the year is the time to pull out the calendar and start planning for the entire year. Before you know it, life happens, and you may find yourself in November with weeks left to use and simply not enough time left in the year to schedule them,” said Roger Dow, president and CEO of U.S. Travel Association, the organization rallying the industry around this nationwide event. “National Plan for Vacation Day is the perfect reminder for Americans to plan to use those well-earned days off to explore this great nation.”

Using vacation days to travel could also improve the U.S. economy, create American
jobs and have a positive impact on our health and overall well-being.

People can get ahead on planning their vacation to the Fox Cities or, for residents, their staycation in the Fox Cities. By planning now, people can enjoy the many benefits of taking a break while giving themselves something extra to look forward to during the coming year, whether it is taking in a Broadway show at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center, relaxing at one of local hotel properties with pools and water play areas or hiking the one-of-a-kind cliffs at High Cliff State Park.
