March 24, 2025 to October 26, 2025 — 10:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Overview
English and American glass factories responded to the rise of consumerism and the increasing desire for highly-embellished items by creating and marketing fanciful glass table decorations for middle and upper-class households. These colorful baskets reached the height of their popularity around 1885. Museum founder Evangeline Bergstrom collected these decorative glass vases and baskets, and a selection of her impressive Victorian Art Glass Basket treasure trove is on exhibit in the Mabel R. McClanahan Memorial Study Gallery through October 26, 2025.
